How do summoning and evolution work together?

Summoning expands your roster; evolution deepens a unit you already own. The efficient order is to summon until your squad covers the main combat roles, test those units in Story, then evolve the ones that remain useful instead of evolving every high-rarity pull.

Read the banner before spending Gems

Banner contents and featured units can rotate. Before a large summon session, check:

• the units currently displayed;
• each rarity or rate shown in the live banner;
• whether a pity or guaranteed counter is visible;
• whether the unit solves a missing role;
• whether you can reasonably fund its evolution.

Do not transfer a rate from an old preview or another wiki into today’s decision. A dramatic summon cutscene is a presentation signal, not a complete explanation of a unit’s current value.

Claim the unit index

The release walkthrough shows a unit index with claimable gem rewards. Open it after summoning so completed entries turn back into progression currency. This is easy to miss because the reward is separate from the summon result.

Level only a working core

Feed experience into the units you actually place. A balanced early core usually includes damage, area coverage, hill or air targeting, control, and economy. Extra copies or niche units can wait until the next mode gives them a clear job.

What does evolution do?

The official game description says players can upgrade and evolve units. Release-day footage shows a dedicated evolution area and examples where lower-rarity or Mythic units can reach stronger forms. Evolution may improve stats, attacks, passives, or active abilities depending on the unit.

Before committing materials:

1. open the current evolution panel;
2. read the exact recipe;
3. inspect the resulting form and ability changes;
4. confirm the unit remains part of your intended team;
5. keep materials for any more urgent carry or mode requirement.

Where do evolution materials come from?

Public launch coverage connects materials to Story stages, Raids, bosses, and other challenges. The exact best stage depends on the current recipe and update. Farm the item named by the in-game evolution panel rather than following a generic “best material” route.

When should I start trait rerolling?

Reroll after a unit has earned a stable roster slot. Evolution and levels are deterministic investments; traits are random. A good sequence is:

1. obtain the unit;
2. test its role;
3. level it enough for relevant content;
4. evolve it if the recipe is realistic;
5. roll a role-fitting trait with a spending limit.
